After 710 km on Day 2 of the rally run - Tamworth down through the back roads to Tumut - the bikes were parked, the bags were dropped, and there was only one thing left to sort out: a cold beer and a feed.
The Star Hotel delivered. That neon sign glowing on the wall, cold schooners at the bar, and the kind of easy country-pub welcome where a group of leather-clad Harley riders taking up the corner of the bar is no drama at all.

It’s a proper modern country pub - bistro doing share plates and meals, a heritage upstairs verandah looking out over the Tumut hills, open seven days. Exactly what you want after a big day on the road: cold beer, hot food, and a place to sit and talk over the run before doing it all again in the morning.
If you’re rolling through Tumut, it’s an easy recommendation.
