Albury Brewhouse - A Cold One on Dean Street
A craft beer and a proper feed at the Albury Brewhouse on Dean Street - the Day 3 lunch stop on the run down to the Vic State HOG Rally, and a good excuse to catch up with a mate.
Breweries, pubs, and taco joints worth riding to. If the food is good and the beer is cold, it makes the list.
Lunch at the Shamrock Hotel on the run out to Echuca during the Vic State HOG Rally. A grand old pub in the historic Port precinct with 101 parmas on the menu, a sports bar with the Grand Prix on the big screens, a barrel room full of old charm, and a beer garden out the back.
One of the old pubs we walked past in Echuca on Day 4 of the Vic State HOG Rally. The Star Hotel is a heritage two-storey pub on High Street, opposite the historic wharf, running right through to the Murray Esplanade - bar, cafe and a courtyard wine bar.
A farewell drink at The Echuca Hotel before the run back to Shepparton on Day 4 of the Vic State HOG Rally. A cracking old pub on Echuca's High Street with a big rear beer garden extension - the perfect spot to soak up the long-weekend sun.
A beautiful federation country pub on the Golden Highway at Dunedoo. We only stopped for fuel and coffee across the road on Day 2 of the rally run - but the Hotel Dunedoo is the kind of place that makes you want to come back with time for a proper beer.
A few cold ones at the Star Hotel in Tumut after a long Day 2 in the saddle on the run to the Vic State HOG Rally. Neon sign out front, cold beer at the bar, and locals who don't mind a group of leather-clad Harley riders in the corner.
One of my favourite taco joints - Cartel del Taco in Hawthorne. Bike parking right out the front, a cool Mexican street-taqueria vibe, killer guacamole with pork chicharron, cold Mexican beers on tap, and a plate of assorted tacos. Worth the ride.
